Lisa Lloyd has been a dedicated civil servant for nearly 17 years working in various positions at Health and Hospitals. She has been an Assistant Coordinating Manager for more than 11 years.
Lisa was elected Shop Steward in 2008 based on her experience and training to help other members. In 2012, she was elected by the members of the entire union as an Executive Board Member-At-Large. She has been a delegate to the CWA National Convention in both 2013 and 2015. Lisa graduated from the both the AFL-CIO Cornell Union Leadership Institute (2010) and the CWA Cornell Leadership Program (2013).
She continues to serve the members in her workplace, keeping them informed of upcoming events, rallies, benefits, and educational programs; and organizes site meetings to inform members about the Union’s association with the Murphy Institute that enables them to earn up to 24 tuition-free college credits.
Lisa serves as a member of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), NYC Chapter of the U.S. Labor Against the War (USLAW), and the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). She has been an active member of the CWA Local 1180 Political Action Committee, interviewing candidates running for various political positions, mobilizing members for rallies, phone banking for elections, and leafletting at train stations in her community and near her workplace.
Lisa has lobbied the NYS Legislature in Albany and Congress in Washington, D.C. on issues of vital importance to members and the labor movement.
