IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN IN YOUR CURRENT PLAN, NO ACTION IS REQUIRED

Mondays November 5, 19, 26 -Your Mac and You -Finally, a class just for Mac users! You'll learn the Mac way of doing things (which is much simpler than Windows),including email, photos, cool apps, music, iCloud, backing up, and much more! Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Thursday, November 1-Halloween Photography Trip to “Haunted” Easton Tower in Passaic, NJ (& Bahama Breeze) AKA the "Red Mill", Easton Tower was built in the 1900s by Manuel Rionda as a tribute to his wife. Legend has it that Rionda's wife committed suicide by jumping off the tower after seeing her husband with another woman. Some visitors say that you can summon her ghost by circling the tower at night. Others have heard strange noises and seen other ghastly apparitions. MEET AT PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL (8th Ave & 41st. st) AT 10:15AM and TAKE THE 10:45am bus #164 (fare: $6/adults, $2.70/seniors) to Saddle River Rd at Wyckoff Terrace. Afterwards, we’ll take the Jitney (Fare: $3) to Bergen Town Center to dine on the delicious fare at Bahama Breeze restaurant!


Wednesday, November 7-Entertainment on Your Smartphone/Tablet: Downloads and Streaming Music -How to copy your own music from your computer to the cloud, and transfer to your mobile device. Also learn how to make playlists in Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and other streaming services. Time: 10:00am-2:00pm


Wednesday, November 7- November is Diabetes Awareness Month-Find out valuable nutritional information & the latest on Diabetic medications from Emblem Health Diabetic Educator, Erin Reddan along with an Emblem Health pharmacist! Of course healthy refreshments will be served.

Thursday, November 8 - Restaurant Club- Bus trip Hotel Thayer Lunch and Brotherhood Winery -Enjoy a Buffet Lunch at the Historic Landmark hotel Thayer with a stone façade and framed battlements and towers located on  the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy that overlooks the Hudson River. After lunch we will Tour  The Brotherhood Winery located in  Washingtonville, New York. Its first commercial vintage produced in 1839, it is commonly acknowledged to be the oldest operating winery in the United States. In 2000 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.  Of course there will be a wine tasting! Bus Departs 9:00 Sharp. Approximate return time 6:00pm Price: $65.00


Wednesday, November 14- Do-it-Yourself Computer Maintenance Tips So You Don’t Have to Call Geek Squad- Is your computer running slow? Are strange things showing up on your screen? We’ll show you how to clean out the junk on your computer that has been Accumulating and protect against viruses FOR FREE. Time: 10:00am-2:00pm


Wednesday, November 14-International Luncheon-Come to our annual International Luncheon and share part of your Thanksgiving with fellow retirees. We provide the turkey and all the trimmings. You bring a desert to share. Use disposable pans, no partial or opened items will be accepted. Your dish should be ready to serve.  Price: Free if you bring a dessert/$10 if you choose not to bring a dessert or your dessert serves less than 8. Time: 12:30pm-2:30pm


Thursday, November 15-Photography Trip to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, CT-Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum was built by renowned financier and railroad tycoon LeGrand Lockwood from 1864-1868. With its unparalleled architecture and interiors, the mansion illustrates magnificently the beauty and splendor of the Victorian Era. Tickets for the 45 min tour are $10/adults, $8/seniors. After the tour we’ll dine at one of the many enticing restaurants in South Norwalk. MEET AT GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL (42nd St & Park Ave) at 9:30am. Taking the 10:04am train to South Norwalk. (Fare each way: $12.50/adults, $8.25/seniors.) Then take Wheels Rte. 10 bus to the mansion (fare each way: $1.75/adults, $0.85/seniors).


Friday, November 16-Medicare & You -Do you have questions about Medicare? Is this the year you turn 65? Come in and we will explain everything you need to know.  A representative from the Dept. of Aging will be here to discuss Medicare A, B and D. Time: 10:30am-12:00pm 


Wednesday, November 21-SPECIAL SEMINAR: Your Mac and You - Using Your Apple Computer-Can’t make our Monday afternoon Mac class? Here’s you chance to learn the Mac way of doing things, including email, photos and iCloud. Discover the cool apps that come FREE with your Mac, including Pages, Garage Band and iMovie! Time:10:00am-2:00pm


Monday November 26- Retiree Benefit Overview-Come to the Retiree Division for an open discussion regarding benefits, Medicare, supplemental benefits or any other questions. A complete overview of the CWA Local 1180 supplemental benefits will be discussed with a general question and answer session. Time: 10:30 am-12:00 pm  Free benefit giveaways!


Wednesday, November 28- Using Email With Confidence (and without Confusion)!- We cover how to protect yourself from junk-mailers and harassers using email aliases.  But the BIG topics will be sending webpage links, attaching documents, and the BEST way to send multiple photos with your email. Time: 10:00am-2:00pm


Thursday, November 29-Special Indoor Photography Class, Take Better Pix, Fix Those You Took-Our quarterly indoor class gives you a chance to share and review your photos with the class, learn easy techniques to get better shots, and how to make quick edits on your smartphone or computer. PLUS: how to email and store your photos in the cloud.
