Workplace Literacy

The goal of the Education Fund is to provide Local 1180 members with the training they need to advance in their careers, increase their earnings, and enhance their financial security.

The Workplace Literacy Programs offers flexibility-scheduled courses and workshops for members seeking to learn new skills and improve their career prospects.

Our courses in Workplace Effectiveness, Management and Supervision, Communication Skills, and Workplace Computer Skills are designed to provide participants with the opportunity to assess their current skill level and identify areas they would like to improve.

Our Seminars & Workshops encourage members to address concerns about meeting financial obligations and managing money in order to meet future needs.

Exam Prep Programs are developed on an as-needed basis to assist members in preparing for civil service promotional and open competitive exams.

Classes are conducted on weekday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and/or on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at 6 Harrison Street, New York, NY 10013-2898.

Enrollment closes thirty days before the first class meeting.
