Business Writing for the Professional (8hrs) Learn to organize and express your ideas clearly, concisely, completely, and correctly when writing.  Poor writing is costly and often leads to procrastination and missed deadlines:  In this course, learn the writing process by practicing brainstorming:  organize information for maximum reader impact and comprehension:  write in modern language by reducing jargon, bureaucratese, and redundancies. When you write a memo, you're not only communicating information to another person, you're presenting yourself in writing. Who should attend:  Anyone who writes memos, letters, reports and work related e-mail; anyone who wants to improve their ability to write in a business setting; anyone who intends to progress upward in their career Click to Register

Listening Skills (4hrs)  Active listening is something more than simply remaining silent while others are talking!  It means really hearing what is being said and thinking about what is meant.  The business of listening is a very important part of the job of the manager or supervisor a work group.   In today’s workplace, information must move in all directions:  upward to higher management, downward to workers, and across department lines to other administrators.  Learn the 4 elements of listening, in this course. Presentation Skills (12hrs) In this course, you will study and practice the art of public speaking.  You will develop outlining, preparation, and presentation skills for public speaking in both formal and informal settings.  A clear, concise speaking style with little or no hesitation will lead to higher self-esteem and better confidence in everyday situations. Introduction to Conversational Spanish (8hrs) Spanish Learn Spanish in order to talk to friends, family and/or for use on the job.  This introductory course is designed to help students foster a basic understanding of the Spanish language.  Instruction will focus on building vocabulary, introducing fundamental grammar rules, and developing conversational skills. Who should attend:  Members who have little or no knowledge of the language Click to Register

Intermediate Conversational Spanish (12hrs) This intermediate level course is designed to help students strengthen their Spanish language skills.  Instruction will focus on improving vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Advanced Conversational Spanish (8hrs) This course is a continuation of Intermediate Conversational Spanish. Who should attend:  Members with some knowledge of the language Click to Register
