Those breakfast treats; those cookies with the white or pink icing; the fudge cookies made without butter or milk: forget about them. For the last five plus months 135 workers have been on strike at Stella D’Oro’s Bronx plant because the new ownership ,the private equity company Brynwood Partners, wants to slash wages as much as 25 percent, make health insurance unaffordable by drastically increasing premiums, eliminate holidays, vacation and sick days, and eliminate extra pay for working Saturdays.

Don’t buy Stella ‘D’Oro

The Stella D’Oro products you buy in a store today were made by scabs yesterday. The union is asking the public to boycott Stella D’Oro goods.

To help, email or fax Stella D’Oro management and tell them that those cookies or breadstick you so love will not pass your lips until they negotiate a fair contract.

Fax plant manager Dan Myers at 718-884-6454 or
Email Brynwood Senior Managing Partner Henk Hartong  at huppsv@brynwoodpartners.com
