As summer starts to wind down, we all turn our attention to fall and preparations we need to make. For some, that means getting the kids or grandkids ready for back-to-school. For others, a last weekend away in the summer sun before heavier work schedules. For all of us, though, this fall will be a crucial time to mobilize and be politically active and to do everything we can to help re-defeat George Bush. Nothing could be more important for the future of our jobs, our lives, our children, and our planet than making sure that Bush once again loses the election (and that this time, he gets booted from the White House, too!). On September 1 there will be an event that will be an important part of this work:

Wednesday, September 1, 4 p.m.
Rally to protest the Bush anti-worker agenda
8th Avenue and 30th Street (enter on 23rd Street)

You can download a flyer here. Please take a moment to make a few copies and pass them on to your co-workers as well as family, friends and neighbors.

If there is one single thing you can do to help kick Bush out of the White House this fall, it is coming to the September 1 demonstration. We will be rallying outside the Republican National Convention where George Bush will be nominated for president. We need a strong, loud showing of all of New York's working people to tell the world that we reject Bush's war on the working class. From destroying millions of jobs, taking away overtime, stripping civil servants of union rights and attacking civil liberties, to waging an immoral, illegal and pointless war and lying about weapons of mass destruction, Bush is the worst thing to happen to America in a very long time. Please come out September 1, and bring your co-workers, invite your family, friends and neighbors, too.
