311 workers join 1180
July 2004
Forty workers in the new Associate Call Center Representative title have now joined Local 1180. The title is specific to 311, a new agency that serves as a clearinghouse for non-emergency information and referrals. The union petitioned to accrete the title, since the work is very similar to what other 1180 members do, and indeed the majority of the Associate Call Center Representatives were 1180 members before. The process is now complete and the 311 members are now officially part of 1180. Welcome to 1180!
