NYC Transit

Pattern contract reached, with one variation
November 2004

Local 1180 has reached an economic agreement with NYC Transit. A final stipulation was signed in November. This contract is also patterned on the city contract, with one variation. One of the concessions contained in the city contract was a reduction in sick days for new hires. Because the NYC Transit is a state agency and state law bars any changes in employees' sick leave, negotiators agreed to an equivalent savings in the form of a change in the annual leave days of new hires; new hires will get 14 days a year for the first four years, and 15 days starting in the fifth year.
