Human Rights Watch prepares for talks

February 2006

Local 1180 members at Human Rights Watch are in the process of finalizing their demands in preparation for negotiations on their third contract. “Our primary goal during upcoming negotiations is to raise the base salary for unionized positions up to industry standards for administrative and research assistance and to lock in annual raises that keep pace with cost-of-living increases,” says shop steward Keramet Reiter. “In addition, we hope to guarantee health benefits for part-time employees and institutionalize a more transparent process for promotions.”
